Time plays a huge factor in making things better, with humans age comes with more wisdom, experiences and gratitude for life; with wine, age brings it more depth and pleasure to the consumer.
Mr & Mrs Nero and Vivian Asibelua of Winestitute could not think of a better way to celebrate a legend than to celebrate the brilliance of his art and continuous good to this world with the joy of wine with friends, family and loved ones.
On the 15th of July 2019, the Winestitute celebrated the living legend Professor Wole Soyinka fondly called Kongi to the first wine auctioning event in Nigeria, it was a night of class, laughter, good wine and impact.
The Winestitute partnered with the Wole Soyinka Foundation to host the first Wine Auction in Nigeria that involved 200 special bottles of wine, especially package, signed, sealed and sold through an auction to the highest bidders. This event was designed to celebrate Professor Wole Soyinka and also raise funds for the Wole Soyinka Foundation.
Here at the Winestitute Nigeria, we are happy to have successfully held the first Wine Auction event in Nigeria, it was a big moment for us to be able to celebrate and share this good cheer using our wines.
We were also excited to host some amazing people contributing to the growth and development of Nigeria and the continent of Africa such as the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Professor Duro Oni, J.P Clark, Former Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola; Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and many others.
The bottles for auctioning are created for the discerning wine collector, the packaging is unique and each bottle comes with a personal touch of one of Professor Wole Soyinka’s poems personally numbered and signed by him.
It was a great night for celebrating the greatness that is Professor Wole Soyinka and raising money for the good work done by his foundation, we look forward to doing more of this.
